It’s late morning on Monday and everyone is sleeping. The littlest is having an early nap and the teenagers (which includes my 11 year old daughter!) are sleeping in. The dogs are their usual sleeping selves so it looks like everything has coordinated nicely to give me a couple of hours to myself.
So first I busied myself to get a few pots washed up, put some washing in the tumbler and put another load on and….and…and STOP!
That is enough housework thank you very much! This is really the only time I get to be peaceful and concentrate. So instead I made a nice cup of tea, logged on to my favourite 24 hour Zoom room (the London Writers’ Salon Cabin - a silent coworking space for writers) and started off by organising some writing.
After that I did a bit of admin, emails and worked on my new Patreon, started tidying my tea trolley…(ooops got a bit distracted - that can wait till later but it did give me some ideas for some more writing), then thought I had better check on everyone upstairs. Yes still sleeping! I don’t need to make any breakfast just yet.
It’s a rainy day and they all had a late night - the joys of home/non/anti-schooling or rather autonomous home education/unschooling (there are numerous terms that could be used but I generally like to just refer to it as “life”!). Anyway, once I had realised we had a sleepy, relaxing house I also lay on my bed and did this 15 minute meditation. I have just discovered Joe Dispenza…. keep hearing things about him so I thought I’d check him out.
Anyway - lovely meditation which has set me up for the day now. I imagined the same future that I see in my vision, as well as journal about, every single day which is my future house on a hill up Derbyshire (among other things).
After that it was time for Writer’s Hour which I am on now in fact!
Ooh speaking of Derbyshire… last night my sister, and musical partner in crime, came over (hence the late night - my kids love seeing her and she spends hours with them chatting). We made more plans for our new album which will be released for the start of Spring. We have all the songs now recorded and ready to go so we just need to get the CD cover designed. This means a trip up Derbyshire for the photos. (If you do not know England well, Derbyshire is the county right in the middle next to Nottinghamshire where I live).
Now, Alisa is a big Sherlock Holmes fan. If anyone has seen the old ITV version you will see that much of it is filmed up Derbyshire. There is Chatsworth House as well as Haddon Hall and also a place called Robin Hood’s Stride…. Well I have never even been but it is a sacred place and rock formation very close to the Druid Caves that I sang in. Also close by is another place that I can hardly believe I have never seen called Nine Stones Close which is a circle of four stones. So we will be off up there next week to do some filming! Can’t wait!
I do love Mondays actually. Just getting back to normal a bit ALTHOUGH at the weekend it feels like it is OK to hide away a bit more and people cannot find me as much. Today I have already had two missed calls from people bothering me. I daren’t even check my emails.
Here is a poll for a bit of fun :)
I wonder what the rest of the day will hold…. I know I have to make bacon sarnies soon then get everyone out to the gym for a swim!!
We are so lucky to live this life. To be free. Tomorrow another mum I know has set up a park meet up for local home-educated kids. Let’s see if we can be organised and get there on time. I have been putting off boring life admin to a dangerous degree. Perhaps I need to get that done too later but I would much rather do something with the children.
This is a bit of ramble today isn’t it? I just wanted to acknowledge the contrast to Saturday. I write mainly for myself. I find it really useful to get all this out somewhere. Was going to say to “get it out on paper” but obviously this is not paper but it still gets it out. Morning pages are the best though! I aim to do those every day though not always in the morning - usually the middle of the day once I have finished all my morning jobs/breakfasts.
There have been some things bothering me lately and I am not even sure whether to write of them or not but I do already have half a post in my drafts folder about the awful murder that happened down the road in Nottingham last summer. It has popped up in the news over the last few days again which brought many fears back to me.
I love your posts Julie. They are such a lovely honest peek into your life. Enjoy the rest of your Monday. Until recently I would have said they make no difference to me but things have recently changed (in a good way, mind!) and Monday marks the start of several days in which I don’t see a certain person in my life so it’s a tiny bit of a sad day for me at the moment. Still things have a habit of shifting and changing so who knows how I’ll feel about Mondays in a few months’ time?!
Hi Julie,
I love getting to know you through your writing.
I know one day soon I'd like to join an on line bread bake, just need to coordinate.
I bought the ingredients to bake whole wheat English muffins this week, we shall see!
I am more of a sweet eater than bread baker but that my change.
My daughter in law makes a fantastic sour dough bread that they eat daily, very impressed!
Anyway, take care and more power to you💜
Chris
